Chinese MEMS industry still has niches to exploit claims report

A new report has revealed that micro electromechanical systems (MEMS) technology is following the trends of other industries, and experiencing increased growth in China.

enablingMNT’s report reveals that there are now more than 2,310 Chinese MEMS manufacturers, which include: 600 nanotechnology companies, 1,500 sensor manufacturers, 60 biochip companies and 150 fabless design houses. The companies consist of both home-grown enterprises and foreign subsidiaries.

Currently, the biggest markets for these markets are the semiconductor, automotive and telecommunications markets, but the medical, industrial and consumer markets are also growing. The report suggests the market still has room for growth, with many interesting niches that could be exploited in the future.

The report, MST/MEMS activities in China - industry and key research centres, is published enablingMNT in collaboration with its Shanghai based associate partner Shanghai Titan Consulting and is available at 480 Euros.
