European Optical Society extends abstract deadline to 20 May

The European Optical Society has extended its deadline for abstract submissions for its annual meeting to 20 May.

The annual meeting, to be held at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre from 25-28 September, will involve the society’s general assembly, short educational courses, a session about photonics’ grand challenges, an optics in the sea exhibition and seven technical sessions. The seven technical sessions range include nanophotonics, metamaterials, silicon photonics and micro-optics.

Launched in 2006, the EOS annual meeting has seen more than 600 attendees. Previously held in Paris last year the society’s board chose to hold the event in Aberdeen. The decision was made to reach out into the wider European optical community and broaden EOS’ appeal to those not directly connected with the industry.
