Davin Optronics acquired by Optronics Investments

Davin Optronics (Watford, UK), a specialist designer and manufacturer of precision optical systems and components, has announced that it has been acquired by Optronics Investments. Further details of the deal were not disclosed.

Rob Parsons (CEO) and William Good (CFO) will be joining the board of Davin Optronics immediately. Also joining the management board are Andy Hedges (operations director), Ian Brock (sales director) and Dave Jewell (business development director).

Optronic Investments' board believes that the business has great potential in its core competence – delivering outstanding value optical systems of the highest quality. Davin has an enviable reputation for the successful delivery of complex optical and related mechanical assemblies across a number of sectors including defence, simulation, machine vision, thermal imaging and medical.

The company's industry-leading design team is capable of taking on the most challenging optronics projects. The Watford facility provides a full production capability including lens production and coating, lens housing manufacture and assembly, as well as providing testing and ongoing support services.

Commenting on the acquisition, the Group’s chief executive Rob Parsons said: 'In recent times Davin has become something of a hidden treasure. We have been hugely impressed by the commitment and exceptional knowledge of the staff, and the extensive competencies of the company. We plan to focus our efforts in raising the profile of the unique capabilities available from the Watford facility to grow the business.'
