Edmund Optics appoints former Schott executive to the board

Edmund Optics has appointed former Schott executive Gerard Robless to its board of directors.

His focus on the EO board will be as a member of the committees for manufacturing and technology, audits, and finance and compensation. Robless has experience of the marketing and sales of industrial optics, opto-electronic, and project display components and a network of contacts in the German, Japan and Taiwanese markets.

‘Gerard's strengths are many, all of which will be an enormous asset to Edmund Optics,’ said Edmund chief executive officer Robert Edmund. ‘His independent thinking, financial accomplishments and broad global experience will help play a role in realising the immediate and long-term goals of our company.’

Robless spent more than 25 years at Schott, starting his career in Malaysia as a regional operations manager and retiring from his position as managing director of the company’s Singapore operation, and senior consultant overseeing its optics sales expansion into Asia. He is a Malaysian citizen and a permanent resident of Singapore.
