Fotonica Evenement expands for 2011

Fotonica Evenement, a photonics conference and exhibition for the Benelux region, will take place on 29-30 March at Nieuwegein Business Center, the Netherlands.

The event establishes a bridge between the research world and business, and explores new technologies and innovative applications. Scientists, researchers, entrepreneurs, CEOs, policy makers, consultants and science students will gather to share their knowledge on photonics and to do business and science networking.

Expanding from a one to a two-day conference, the programme explores a range of themes, including: healthcare and life science; lighting; information and communication technology; industrial photonics; photonics in daily life; solar; and fundamental research photonics. Examples of technology topics that will be highlighted in the conference programme are: microscopy; LEDs and OLEDs; integrated optics; lasers; and optical sensing and imaging.

Alongside the conference, there are several other activities, including: the Knowledge Exhibition, featuring more than 60 companies; an Application Square, showcasing a variety of products; a Hands-on Photonics area, with exhibitor demonstrations ranging from new light sources to detection systems; a Knowledge and Education Square, hosted by national and international education centres, research and knowledge institutes; a Photo Contest; and a Brokerage Event, offering the opportunity for face-to-face meetings.
