German chancellor visits Trumpf

German chancellor Angela Merkel has visited Trumpf in Ditzingen.

Before hosting a meeting of European leaders in Berlin to discuss the Eurozone, Merkel visited Trumpf and spoke to its leadership and employees about youth development and education. Following a tour conducted by Trumpf managing board vice chairman Dr Peter Leibinger, Merkel answered questions from employees.

According to Trumpf, the company has always held the view that education is essential to innovation.  In co-operation with local schools and universities, Trumpf is involved in developing education projects, supplying teaching materials and supporting students with grants and scholarships. Trumpf has apprenticeship training schemes at its facilities worldwide.
