Gold medal for laser cutting machine

A flatbed laser cutting machine integrated with a 400W fibre laser from JK Lasers has been awarded a gold medal and diploma at the 2012 International Technical Fair, Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

Designed and manufactured by ISL Photonics, a division of IKIS, the Gladus400 impressed show judges with its innovative flair and manufacturing performance.

The Gladus400 can be fitted with any JK fibre laser to precision cut sheet metals such as aluminium and steel at speed. It also features an integrated chiller, filter and extraction system, making it easy to install into most industrial premises. The size of the cutting table can be adapted to meet individual needs.

Filip Shkembov, manager of IKIS, said: 'We are delighted with our award-winning Gladus400, which is the culmination of many months hard work. JK Lasers worked closely with us from the start, delivering outstanding service that enabled us to build this successful machine.

'Our new ISL Photonics division is now integrating JK fibre lasers into a range of general purpose flatbed cutting machines that we hope will serve many markets for years to come.'

Mark Greenwood, general manager of JK Lasers, added: 'It has been a pleasure working with IKIS and we are delighted that the Gladus400 has won a gold award at the International Technical Fair. From IKIS’s initial enquiry through to our engineer’s visit to install the lasers and train their staff, we have been committed to delivering processing solutions that are tailored to their exact requirements. We look forward to building on this positive relationship and wish the team all the best with the recent launch of their ISL Photonics division.'
