Gooch & Housego wins one million euro fibre laser component contract

Gooch & Housego has won a one million euro contract with an unidentified European original equipment manufacturer for a range of components to be used in fibre laser systems.

The contract includes the supply of AO modulators, Fibre-Q’s, RF drivers and laser pumps which are all manufactured by the Gooch & Housego group. The company designs, develops and manufactures a range of technologies including, precision optics, optical radiation measurement, optical coatings, fibre optics and crystal growth.

Paul Morris is the senior vice president of sales at Gooch & Housego. He said: ‘This illustrates the growth in Q-switched fibre laser systems generally and G&H’s strong position in this market.  Our ability to supply a range of products in one package to a major OEM is a clear benefit to this industry.’
