Goodrich ISR Systems becomes UTC Aerospace Systems in United Technologies take over

The Princeton, New Jersey-based shortwave and near-infrared (NIR) camera manufacturer, Goodrich ISR Systems, has been bought by United Technologies Corporation and has changed its name to UTC Aerospace Systems.

The formerly Goodrich SWIR indium gallium arsenide imaging products will be branded as Sensors Unlimited for UTC Aerospace Systems, which also includes United Technologies’ recent purchase Hamilton Sundstrand. The new UTC Aerospace Systems will have its headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina. United Technologies is based in Hartford, Connecticut.

UTC chairman and CEO, Louis Chenevert, said: ‘Adding the talented people, great technology and culture of innovation that has defined Goodrich truly positions us to better serve our aerospace customers with more advanced, integrated solutions for the next generation aircraft.’

Marshall Larsen, formerly Goodrich's chairman and chief executive officer, will join the United Technologies board of directors from 12 September. The website for UTC Aerospace Systems imaging products remains www.sensorsinc.com.
