Laseroptik doubles capacity for IBS coatings

Laseroptik has doubled its Ion Beam Sputtering (IBS) machinery to meet the growing demand for high precision sputtered coatings.

The additional IBS capacities allow improved customising of machines for special requirements, e.g. low loss super mirrors, complex filter designs or coatings on crystals.

Furthermore IBS coatings have recently become an integral part of the Laseroptik Express service, which offers coatings and optics within 24 hours, one to two weeks, or three weeks for special prototypes.

In 2007 Laseroptik introduced IBS as its fourth and most advanced coating technique besides e-beam evaporation, ion assisted deposition (IAD) and magnetron sputtering.
