Nanometrology centre launch

The Centre of Excellence in Metrology for Micro and Nano Technologies (CEMMNT) will officially launch on 2 May in the Systems Engineering Innovation Centre in Loughborough.

The national event is expected to bring together over 150 companies. Keynote presentations will highlight the important of micro- and nanoscale measurement and characterisation, with Graham Spittle, chairman of the Government Technology Strategy Board, providing his views on the technology’s national perspective.

In addition, demonstrations, case studies and panel discussions will focus on practical applications, and a surgery session will allow delegates to discuss challenges with partner scientists. It will also include a session outlining opportunities to apply for European Framework Programme 7 collaborative research funding.

The launch will form a large part of the iFestival – a celebration of innovation in the East Midlands.
