Following its acquisition by Techcomp Europe, Edinburgh Instruments (EI) has appointed Mark Vosloo as CEO.

Vosloo joins EI from Oxford Instruments, where he has held various general manager and senior commercial roles for the past nine years. Prior to this he has a long career in the opto-electronics industry, including positions at Linos Photonics and Horiba Jobin Yvon.

Techcomp Europe's CEO Chris O’Connor said: 'EI is a focussed manufacturer of high-end photonic research systems and we are delighted to appoint someone with Mark’s experience to lead the business into its next phase of growth. His background and skills are a perfect fit with the dedicated and highly qualified team in Scotland, plus his customer focussed approach will bring a new dimension to our partners and loyal customers.'

Vosloo added: 'EI’s reputation for delivering advanced instruments to support some of the most innovative fluorescence lifetime research is renowned all over the world. With recent investments from Techcomp, EI is poised to add a number of exciting new platforms and technologies and I am excited about being part of the team to deliver these to our customers.'
