New German forum for photovoltaic devices

The German Engineering Federation (VDMA) has founded a new forum to foster the booming market for photovoltaic devices, which convert optical energy to electrical energy.

The move reflects the increasing popularity of photovoltaic devices in Germany, which currently uses 50 per cent of the devices used worldwide, and produces 20 per cent of the global market. Experts predict that demand will continue to increase, with double-digit growth for the next few years.

The new VDMA forum aims to increase the communication between the German manufacturers involved in all stages of the production of photovoltaic devices, and to promote Germany’s presence in this industry. It will provide up-to-date technology and market information, networking opportunities, and will promote its members at trade fairs.
