- Cedip Infrared’s high-resolution Silver 660M IR camera has successfully revealed detailed thermal information about MEMS devices – some as small as a grain of sand.

- e2v has acquired MiCS MicroChemical Systems SA for a total cash sum of £5m. MiCS designs and manufactures semiconductor equipment for air quality sensors used in automotive applications. It perfectly complements e2v’s exisiting silicon-based sensing technology for industrial safety applications.

Electron Tubes' detector modules and x-ray systems business has been renamed Sens-Tech. The new subsidiary will develop and supply x-ray sensor systems, photodetector modules and photomultiplier power supplies.

North American Photonics has added Westech Optical Corporation's high volume optics to its product line. Westech was chosen for its excellent lens design and quality control policies.
