Gilden Photonics, a start-up company that specialises in optical spectroscopy, was shortlisted for two Business Excellence Awards 2008 from Scottish Enterprise.
Gilden Photonics were nominated under two categories, the Innovation and Creativity Award for its fluoroSENS instrument, and Business Growth through International Activity Award.
On both occasions GPL was the runner up and missed out on the top accolade to long-established companies such as Polaroid.
The Business Excellence Awards celebrating business achievement were held on 14 March 2008 at the De Vere Cameron House Hotel, Loch Lomond.
