Princeton Instruments appoints new managers

Princeton Instruments (PI) has recently appointed three new managers to three of its constituent divisions: Ed Gooding has been promoted to product manager of the spectroscopy group, Greg Combs has been promoted to product manager of the industrial group and Matt Lyons has joined the company as sales and marketing manager for the Acton Optics & Coatings product line.

Ed Gooding was previously PI's applications specialist for spectroscopy; he holds a PhD in physical chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to his work at Princeton Instruments, Dr Gooding worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Pittsburgh. Additionally he was a visiting professor at Swarthmore College. Gooding has published papers in numerous peer-reviewed journals.

Greg Combs has been with the company for seven years working as lead sales applications engineer for the Megaplus camera line, and has more than 15 years' experience creating imaging solutions in the machine vision and consumer electronics markets.

Matt Lyons comes to Princeton Instruments with successful industry experience in sales management. He has held positions most recently at Tiger Optics as the US sales director, product specialist at Entegris and regional sales manager, Delta F Corporation. Lyons holds a BS in chemical engineering from Northeastern University.
