The company has appointed two laser industry experts, both of whom will be based in the company's applications laboratory in Santa Clara, US. Mark Brodsky is appointed as applications lab manager (US), and Kevin Ham is appointed to senior laser applications engineer (US). The company has committed funds to expand its Santa Clara facility, and is also planning to open an applications laboratory in the UK.
Brodsky brings with him laser applications knowledge and experience gained through his positions as owner and founder of LMco Laser Marks Company, founder and president of Mr Laser Inc, as well as positions within Advanced Micro Devices, ZilogSemiconductor and National Semiconductor. Brodsky has several technical publications and patents to his name.
Ham joins SPI's applications team with more than 25 years' experience in lasers for manufacturing applications and engineering, most recently within the medical sector.
