Success at CIOE this year

Official figures show that China International Optoelectronic Exposition this September attracted 18 per cent more exhibitors and 10 per cent more visitors than previous shows.

The five exhibition halls covered 55,000m2 with 1,902 exhibitors in total. More than half of the exhibitors represented international companies and brands such as Sony, Olympus, Leica, Yokogawa, Schott, Coherent, and other market leaders. Between 6–9 September, 77,000 guests visited the exhibition halls, with more than 25 per cent from overseas.

The trade fair presented the latest innovations in the fields of laser and infrared applications, optical data transfer, optics and optoelectronic displays, and semiconductor technology. In addition to the exhibition, the CIOE offered a three-day conference for China’s optoelectronics industry that dealt with both scientific and practical issues.

The exhibition and the conference programme were supported by Chinese universities and optoelectronics institutions, including: the China Association for Science and Technology, the Academy of Opto-Electronics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Optical Society, the China Electronic Chamber of Commerce, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Ministry of the Information Industry.
