Luxembourg’s Gabriel Lippmann Public Research Centre (CRP-GL) has awarded Telops a contract for its Fourier transform infrared hyperspectral imaging system, the Hyper-Cam, for airborne monitoring.
The Hyper-Cam will be used by CRP-GL combined with an airborne platform to improve the centre's capabilities in the fields of sustainable management of the environment. The Hyper-Cam’s airborne platform is to enable the imaging system to be fitted to an aircraft and cope with the pitch, roll and yaw movements expected during flight.
CRP-GL’s environment and agro-biotechnologies department scientific director Dr Lucien Hoffmann said: ‘The novel Hyper-Cam by Telops together with its airborne platform will allow us to become a world leading knowledge centre in thermal remote sensing with key applications in natural resource management.’
The contract includes further customisation of a Hyper-Cam. The CRP-GL is a public establishment devoted to applied scientific research, technological development and technology transfer through cooperation with companies.
