Trumpf Scientific Lasers established for new market push

Trumpf has founded Trumpf Scientific Lasers to develop and manufacture ultrashort disk pulse lasers for the scientific market.

Munich based-Trumpf Scientific Lasers is a joint venture with the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics, which is located near Munich, in the town of Garching. This new enterprise will expand Trumpf’s product range to include ultrashort pulse lasers, which are highly suited for scientific applications. Trumpf’s intention is to penetrate new markets. The company also expects that the interchange of ideas with the scientific world will provide leads for new developments in industrial lasers.

Dr Jens Rauschenberger has been appointed managing director at Trumpf Scientific Lasers. This new firm is located in Munich. Rauschenberger will work with the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics’ director Professor Ferenc Krausz.
