JDSU has released its 6398-L4t series fibre-coupled diode laser, which expands its L4 platform by offering a tighter wavelength range specification of +/-3nm at 976nm for the fibre laser pumping market.
Distributed in the UK by Photonic Solutions, the L4t series diode lasers offer 10W of CW power from a 105mm fibre into a 0.22 or 0.15 numerical aperture.
The tight wavelength tolerance is achieved by accurately controlling the wavelength of the epitaxial structure during growth, with the end result the narrow +/-3nm wavelength range of the L4t package. This wavelength tolerance of around 976nm means this source can pump fibre lasers within this narrow absorption bandwidth.
