Sirah, a supplier of pulsed dye laser systems, has launched the Allegro dye laser. Distributed in the UK by Photonic Solutions, the Allegro is optimised for use with high repetition rate diode pumped solid state (DPSS) laser systems.
Featuring a specially designed low threshold resonator, novel dye cells and modified flow pumps, the Allegro can be pumped by multi kHz 532nm and 355nm lasers. This narrowband dye laser can be configured to operate from 370–900nm with fundamental wavelength output power of up to 25W depending on the pump energy, repetition rate and laser dye used.
Efficient SHG conversion is easily achieved, with the Allegro giving truly tuneable UV radiation in the kHz region, opening up new research opportunities in areas such as combustion diagnostics, atmospheric research, laser-matter interaction studies and life sciences.
