The Diamond E-150 is a new CO2 laser from Coherent, which offers greater reliability and reduced cost of ownership for applications involving processing of textiles, organic materials, plastics and even thin metals. The laser delivers 150W (at 1kHz repetition rate) at a wavelength of 10.6µm, while offering excellent beam quality (M²<1.2) and high output stability (<±7 per cent). Based on Coherent's G-Series platform, this new laser incorporates advances in the RF power supply design to reduce part count by 70 per cent. As a result, the Diamond E-150 is expected to deliver a MTBF of more than 60,000 hours, and is backed by a 24-month warranty. Furthermore, the Diamond E-150 is the smallest product of this type currently available on the market.
