Lambda Research Corporation, a leading designer and publisher of illumination and optical design software, announces the release of TracePro 2021 version 21.2 of its flagship TracePro software.

Some of the New Features/ Enhancements in TracePro 2021 21.2:

  • New feature: Image Source

  • Improvements to TracePro’s Interactive Optimizer

  • Improvements to the Lighting Toolkit.

The main improvement in TracePro 21.2 is a new feature: Image Source. The image source feature enables TracePro users to use image files as light sources. Image files can be inserted into a model, and rays are emitted from the image with flux and wavelength determined by the color and intensity of each pixel. The Image Source works with all ray tracing and analysis features, and is especially useful for engineers who are designing HUD, AR, and VR systems, or any time accurate image source modeling is important. The Interactive Optimizer continues its development with user interface improvements and conveniences. The Lighting Toolkit has been enhanced with the addition of FMVSS 108 regulations to the Lighting Toolkit’s built-in Regulation Table.

TracePro 2021 further enhances the most powerful and sophisticated optical analysis and design software available today. TracePro streamlines the prototype-to-manufacturing process by combining an intuitive 3D CAD interface, superior ray tracing performance, advanced utilities, and seamless interoperability with other mechanical design programs.
