Obis CW direct diode and OPSL lasers

Share this on social media:

Coherent has launched its Obis family of highly integrated CW lasers featuring true plug-and-play simplicity. Based on direct diode and optically pumped semiconductor laser (OPSL) technologies and using state-of-the-art miniaturised components, these lasers have all control functions integrated inside their compact laser head, in contrast to the traditional architecture of head, dedicated cable and controller. Ranging in power up to 100mW, the initial product offering includes models at seven wavelengths from the UV through near-IR: 375nm, 405nm, 445nm, 488nm, 640nm, 660nm, and 785nm, all with a circular TEM00 output beam. The company adds that the wavelength scalability of OPSL technology will allow new wavelengths to be developed as they are required.

The Obis laser head measures 38 x 40 x 70mm, and permits direct high speed digital and analogue modulation (up to 150MHz). Applications for range from life sciences to metrology and inspection.
