Optical instrument windows from 0.20mm

Bern Optics has announced the availability of precise optical instrument windows as small as 0.20mm in diameter. They can be custom engineered, ground and polished to micron tolerances in a wide variety of sub-millimetre standard or custom shapes.

Created from optical and filter glasses, these microscopic optical elements, some of which as small as a grain of salt, can be produced with high accuracy. Custom designed reflective or anti-reflection coatings can be applied to meet the specific requirements of the application. Precision optical windows are often used as a protective element between differing physical environments, making them ideal for use in protecting fragile optical components inside an assembly. They are also used in spectroscopic, chemical and colour analysis instrumentation, as well as in endoscopic and other medical devices.
