Trioptics has released the OptiCentric Cementing Station, a production system for measuring, aligning, and cementing lenses. According to the company, the system increases the cementing accuracy and doubles the throughput compared to traditional cementing processes. The machine is fully automatic.
The OptiCentric Cementing Station can be adapted for cementing lenses onto a centring arbour, and the system is equipped with a high precision chuck in which the arbour is clamped to. The lenses are aligned with respect to the axis of the arbour and the arbour clamped into the chuck of the centring turning machine for further processing. The residual centring error between both lenses in a doublet is typically better than 2µm.
