Oerlikon Optics has developed a new technology for coating plastic reflectors used in high-performance lighting systems in operating rooms and dentists' offices, to ensure excellent light quality and patient comfort.
Surgeons and dentists need homogeneous, cool, and precise lighting. Oerlikon Optics provides cold conversion reflectors, cold light reflectors, and calflex heat protection.
The reflectors are made of plastic, but use a coating made of Ultem. The lenses are lighter and have higher-precision geometry than their glass counterparts. The coating optimises the colour temperature of the light source and blocks IR light, improving the optical characteristics of the illumination.
