Wren

Selex Sensors and Airborne Systems (S&AS) has launched Wren, a high performance uncooled single element pyroelectric detector for use in infrared (IR) microscopy.

Wren offers design engineers and manufacturers of spectrometer instruments a straightforward and cost effective detector solution for IR microscopy, available with a short lead-time and at a competitive price.

This new generation detector is based on SELEX S&AS grown Deuterated L-Alanine doped Triglycene Sulphate (DLATGS) pyroelectric material, and has an active area of 250 x 250mm to directly replicate that of existing cooled detector technologies such as MCT, Silicon and InGaAs.

It has a broad spectral response, and requires little maintenance with very easy operation.
