Excelitas Technologies has launched the X-Cite 120LEDmini, a compact white light LED source for fluorescence imaging applications. Through direct coupling, the LED provides efficient optical output, uniformity, and, according to the company, the highest performing coupling optics available.
The X-Cite 120LEDmini offers broad-spectrum coverage ranging from 370nm to 700nm with high excitation power for popular fluorophores including DAPI, GFP, mCherry, and Cy5. Through USB, TTL or manual control via SpeedDial, a standard component included with the system, the X-Cite 120LEDmini offers convenient control options for any instrument configuration, from basic to fully automated operation.
The LED is an efficient, environmentally friendly solution with zero mercury disposal and low energy consumption. An instant on/off capability minimises photobleaching and phototoxicity in specimens while offering a compact solution for minimum space requirements.
