New IAD and IBS coating systems

Laser Components continues to expand its optics production with two new coating systems. The ion beam sputtering (IBS) system delivered last year is now fully operational and has started production.

An additional ion-assisted deposition (IAD) system has been ordered for the end of 2022. The manufacturer, which specialises in special designs to customer specifications, can now also produce highly complex dielectric layer designs in quantities of several thousand without neglecting the production of small batches and prototypes. This offers customers not only more flexibility through shorter delivery times but also more favourable unit prices.

For decades, Laser Components has consistently invested in the modern IBS and IAD processes, which can be used to produce compact layers in a controlled manner. This is a basic requirement for highly reflective mirrors, vacuum optics, complex dichroic mirrors, beam splitters with low tolerances, and thin-film polarisers with additional optical functions.
