Jenoptik wins three-year $13 million US medical lasers contract

Jenoptik has won a contract to supply an unidentified US company with lasers worth about $13 million dollars over the next three years for the medical market.

The medical lasers are to be supplied by Jenoptik’s lasers and material processing division. The order follows previous sales of lasers for medical applications in North America. In the medical technology field, lasers are used in ophthalmology, dermatology, surgery and urology. More than 15,000 Jenoptik medical lasers are in use worldwide, enabling millions of patients to receive non-invasive surgery and consequently an improved quality of life.

Jenoptik continues to further develop the lasers and since 2010 its products have included a compact design of the tried and tested laser for use in various medical devices.
