UK-based distributor Elliot Scientific has announced that after intense pre-launch interest, the company is now taking orders on the Axiom solid-state laser, a 0.5W CW green (514nm) semiconductor disk laser (SDL) produced by Solus Technologies in Glasgow, Scotland. The 514nm wavelength is aimed at applications in which the laser could replace legacy argon-ion systems. Axiom combines excellent beam quality with high power and narrow linewidth, and is well-suited to a broad range of lab or industry applications, such as in biophotonics and metrology.
Elliot states that the laser can be delivered with a user-specified operating wavelength, accurate to ±1nm anywhere in the range of 500-599nm. The laser features a simple graphical user interface plus integrated systems that take care of control and provide feedback on its performance.
