Ekspla opens new UK office

Lithuanian solid-state laser manufacturer Ekspla has opened a new representative office in North Lincolnshire, UK, which will be responsible for the company’s sales and services in the UK and Ireland. 

‘We have been working in the UK and Ireland photonics market for more than 10 years,’ commented Kestutis Jasiunas, CEO of Ekspla, ‘Famous universities like Cardiff, Oxford, Cambridge, University College London, Durham, and Heriot Watt are already using Ekspla lasers today. The UK is one of the top three countries in Europe where we are exporting our lasers.’ 

Clive Morrison, with a total of more than 30 years of experience in the photonics industry, has been appointed as head of the new UK office. Clive began his career in lasers working on high energy short pulse lasers at a premier research establishment near Reading. From there he has developed a very wide understanding of lasers, optics and photonic processes and products, working in industries such as aerospace and defense, research and development, packaging and fine jewelry. 

‘Working with Ekspla over the past seven years has helped me to realise that the chance to work directly which such a professional and exciting organisation was an opportunity of massive proportions and challenge that could not be resisted,’ he said. 

‘Ekspla is strong in delivering tailored solutions for its customers. Qualified support for the customers throughout the whole process – from the selection of a solution to product maintenance – is necessary.’ Noted Jasiunas. ‘We are happy that Clive, with all his experience and enthusiasm, will bring us even closer to our customers’.

The office will be run under the name of a new entity founded by Ekspla and Eksma Optics: E&EO UK Ltd. The serving of all current cases as well as the supporting of already established customers will be carried out by the new company.
