Hans-Dieter Schumacher to become the new Chief Financial Officer of Jenoptik

The Supervisory Board of JENOPTIK AG has appointed Hans-Dieter Schumacher (51) as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer. With effect from April 1, 2015, Mr. Schumacher will take over the position of Rüdiger Andreas Günther whose contract will expire on March 31, 2015.

Commenting on the appointment of this new board member, Mr. Rudolf Humer, Chairman of JENOPTIK AG’s Supervisory Board, stated: “Hans-Dieter Schumacher is a financial expert with international experience we managed to win over for our Executive Board. He has a very successful track record showing his competence and leadership qualities in many different duties. I am sure that, being a proven financial expert, he will be a true asset for the Executive Board’s work and will give valuable new impetus to our activities.”

Jenoptik President & CEO Michael Mertin is welcoming the decision adopted by the Supervisory Board: “I am looking forward to our new CFO. Hans-Dieter Schumacher is not only a proven expert in the fields of finance and controlling, but he can also contribute extensive experience gained in the international machine engineering industry as well as in medical engineering. His industrial background will be an essential complement to Jenoptik’s management structures.”

Hans-Dieter Schumacher currently is the Chief Financial Officer of HOMAG Group AG which is quoted on the stock exchange and where he has been in charge of the finance, IT and HR departments since 2011. Before, he had been a CFO for Sto, a construction material manufacturer, from 2003 to 2010.

After having studied business administration, Schumacher was active in various leading commercial positions for Villeroy & Boch, Mannesmann Handel and Aesculap.
