iFLEX-Viper Laser engine

Point Source has released its iFLEX-Viper laser engine with new software control capability.

The iFLEX-Viper laser engine’s modular approach offers independent and simultaneous control over each laser enabling new experiments not possible with AOTF controlled devices. The iFLEX-Viper is compatible with a number of commercially available imaging software packages such as Olympus cell^R, MetaMorph and μManager and a number of add-on interfaces ensure a complete solution for all microscope systems.

Point Source has received record orders of over $12m for the iFLEX-Viper over the past 12 months and, in addition to commercial success, iFLEX-Viper units have been ordered by research organisations, including Cambridge University, Max Plank Institute and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for ongoing projects and experimentation in the field of cytology, confocal microscopy and DNA sequencing.

The iFLEX-Viper laser engine features Point Source's kineFLEX fibre-optic technology, which gives flexibility in instrument and experiment design and offers improved optical performance over conventional bulk optical systems.
