Integral laser welding system

Rofin has introduced its Integral modal laser welding system for manual welding, featuring an up-dated 200W laser source. The new design is focused on optimising welding results in highly reflective materials such as aluminium. The new laser resonator improves the pulse-to-pulse stability and depth of focus, and hence increases the system’s flexibility when welding demanding material combinations. Rofin states that initial customer reactions are positive, and confirm that the system allows parameters to be set more easily than its predecessors.

The system offers a new V track mode for easy definition of parallel welding vectors by inputting two points. This allows the definition of complex welding paths using the X, Y, Z, and rotary axis, enabling a helical thread to be welded extremely easily.
