Jenoptik has introduced the Laser Distance Measuring Module LDM43 with Profibus and SSI Interfaces. A Profibus DP-V0 interface allows for easy integration of the compact LDM43 Laser Distance Measuring Module into field-bus-controlled process automation environments with the LDM43 itself functioning as the slave.
The Serial Synchronous Interface (SSI) provides another standardised interface for simplified output of measured data. Two digital switching outputs and one trigger input warrant high flexibility as regards measuring mode features. Designed to meet IP65 internal protection standards, the LDM43 is able to work in harsh field conditions.
Its opto-electronic laser sensor allows any distance from 10cm to 150m to be measured with millimetre accuracy in real-time and non-contact mode. Greater distances can be measured, depending on the reflectance of the particular object being sighted. A clearly perceivable red laser spot helps the user direct the eye-safe measuring beam with pinpoint precision on to the object he/she wants to target.
