Wavelength Electronics has introduced its new QCL series of low noise drivers for quantum cascade lasers, offering sub-µA RMS noise (0.7µA RMS over 100kHz bandwidth with the QCL1000 1A driver). Designed as an OEM controller, it can be used in field-deployed systems or on a bench-top. Bandwidth is 2-3MHz, with rise and fall times of 250/200ns.
The QCL series drives up to 2A of low noise current with core safety features including current limit, slow start, brownout, reverse voltage, and overvoltage protection, and remote or local current enabling. The company states that the small and low cost device offers better performance than other instruments.
