UBQ-7810 ultra-compact fibre laser

UK-based distributor Laser Lines has announced the availability of the UBQ-7810 ultra-compact fibre laser designed by Ubiquilight and manufactured by Laser Lines' partner Diode Laser Concepts. The UBQ-7810 offers product developers low-cost, compact fibre lasers in wavelengths beyond 1,700nm for high-volume applications.

According to the Laser Lines, Ubiquilight fibre laser modules are the smallest commercially available mid-IR fibre lasers. The devices extend wavelength range and improve wavelength stability in applications that require maximum power from a small footprint, at low costs for 1,700nm and greater wavelengths. These advantages are said to stem from Ubiquilight's patented optical multi-resonator (OMR) technology.

The laser offers wavelength variation of +/-5nm at ambient operating temperatures of 0-70°C with no thermoelectric cooler required. The emission wavelength of 1,925nm is achieved at typical output power of 3mW and 100mA drive current.
