Laser 2000 has announced the availability of the WaveGauge digital wavefront sensors, produced by PhaseView, for the characterisation of aspheric optics. The WaveGuage is designed to meet the requirements of quality assurance, R&D, and production environments.
WaveGauge provides real-time analysis of lenses with high speed, accuracy and resolution. Simultaneous intensity and high-resolution wavefront mapping with PhaseView's digital wavefront cameras enables surface quality visualisation and aberration analysis of lenses with spherical, aspheric or toric shape. All critical parameters in lens testing can be accurately measured, such as dioptre power and power maps, lens aberrations to an arbitrary order, point spread function (PSF), modulation transfer function (MTF), and effective focal length (EFL). Subsequently, a comparison to a lens design or theoretical data is performed.
