Hübner Photonics' new 1W laser targets fluorescence microscopy

 Cobolt Jive 561nm

Hübner Photonics, a manufacturer of lasers for advanced imaging, detection and analysis applications, has released a higher-power model of the Cobolt Jive 561nm on its 05-01 Series platform.

Now with up to 1,000mW continuous-wave output power, the Cobolt Jive is suited to demanding applications in fluorescence microscopy, especially for super resolution microscopy such as DNA-Paint, as well as interferometric based techniques such as particle flow analysis.

The Cobolt Jive is a continuous-wave single-frequency diode pumped laser operating at 561.2nm in a TEM00 beam (M2<1.1). A proprietary laser cavity design ensures ultra-low noise typically <0.1% rms (over 20Hz-20MHz and over 10-40℃) and excellent power stability <2% (±2°C and 8hrs).

All Cobolt lasers are manufactured using the firm’s HTCure technology and the resulting compact hermetically sealed package provides a very high level of immunity to varying environmental conditions along with exceptional reliability. Lasers built using the HTCure technology have been shown to withstand multiple 60G mechanical shocks in operation without any sign of degraded performance.
