Laser Components has expanded its ‘diamond-like source’ series of pulsable IR emitters.
In addition to the large DLSxxxX2224 chip, a smaller chip is also available under the designation DLSxxxX0808. At 250mW, the power consumption is less than 1/3 that of the large chip (measured at 10Hz, 50 per cent duty cycle). The DLSxxxX0808 emits at 2-13μm and is thus particularly well suited for handheld devices and miniaturised sensors.
